Jog Falls, Shimoga,Karnataka
Jog Fall is situated in Shimoga district of Karnataka consisting of four distinct cascades, known as Raja, Rani, Rover and Rocket. These four cascades merge to form a huge waterfall from a height of 253 meters. It provides a scenic background by the lush green surroundings the water of this fall do not torrent down the rocks making it the tallest un-tiered waterfall in the country. Creating a cloud of vapor with great force the ideal time to visit the Jog Fall would be during monsoon. Other areas to visit nearby are the Sharavathi valley, the Swarna Nadi riverbank, Dabbe falls and Thyvare Koppa Lion.

Dudhsagar Falls, Goa
It is located on the Mandovi River in the Indian state of Goa. Dudhsagar meaning ‘sea of milk’ evolves from the Konkani name for the falls as from a distance the water of the falls looks like stream of milk rushing down from a height of 600 meter. A story has been told behind the name as earlier there was a king who had a daughter who loved to take bath in the lake. She used to finish her bath after taking a jugful of sugared milk from a golden jug, once when she was taking bath she saw a prince was looking at her, ashamed of it she poured the milk to hide her body. Thus was the legend born of the sugared milk pouring down and continued to flow as a tribute to the princess. It is also a popular site for hiking and trekking. Dudhsagar fall is the largest and highest fall of Goa and is inaccessible in the monsoon season. One can hire a jeep in the summer and enjoy the fall and its adjoining areas.

Iruppu Falls, Coorg
Iruppu is a sacred place and the fall is located in the Brahmagiri Range in the Kodagu District of Karnataka, India. It is one of the Croog’s major tourist destination accompanied by River Lakshmana nearby. The story behind the river being sacred is Rama and Lakshmana passed this way in search of Sita and when Rama asked him to fetch water, Lakshmana shot an arrow on the Brahmagirri and brought into being the river. It descends from 60 meter and plunge down the lush green mountains. Thousands of devotees come to this fall on Shivaratri as it is said to posses the power to cleanse the sins of the people. 

Kune Falls, Maharashtra
The 14th highest waterfall in India is located in the center of the twin valley Lonavla and Khandala. It plunges down from a height of 200 meters. The famous Sahayadri Mountains on the backdrop and the lush green vegetation of the Kune Falls attracts a large number of tourists not only from India but also from the world. During the monsoon season it is in its fullest glory with a view that’s truly breath-taking. The most ideal time to visit the Kune Falls would be in the mid-monsoon when the waterfall is in its peak.

Athirapally Falls, Kerala
Located near the Chalakudy River and Sholayar Ranges, 80 feet high and 330 feet wide is the Athirapally Falls. The natural beauty, the sound of the falls, adorned with palms and coconut trees will surely steal your heart. It is magical and magnificent in its own natural way. Trekking can be also done to reach the fall, but not recommended on the monsoon. The local fishermen are also seen their catching fish and the children’s taking the advantage of the fall by swimming. Some of the other notable areas to see nearby are the Charpa waterfalls, Sholayar Dam, Vazachal Waterfalls and Anakayam and Mallakkapara Eco-tourism areas.
