Mumbai Police in
order to deal with the terror attack and to avoid such accident like 26/11,
they have now come with the initiative to give high level training to deal with
the terror attack
. For this they will provide training to the employees of the hotels and restaurants surrounding the Gateway of India and more of all to provide safety to tourists visiting Gateway, the Mumbai Police has launched project called ‘Tourist First’ as per a DNA report. Apart from this, the Mumbai Police will also install 15-20 CCTVs outside edge of Gateway.

Tourist First
has been an idea by Krishna Prakash, Additional Commissioner of Police, South
Mumbai and this idea is been co-ordinated by Nilesh Kumar, CEO, N Kumar
Associates International. The major plan and aspect of this initiative is
Safety First of Tourists, Security and Cleanliness. The Project Purpose to
collect Rs Five per Person and the entry fee of five will be collected, which
will be used for the maintenance of the monument.
Prakash said
staff of nearby hotels will be trained by the police and the Central Industrial
Security Force. “The syllabus for the high-level training on giving the fastest
response in case of a terror attack will be prepared soon. The training to be
provided to all employees of nearby hotels, restaurants and stores is likely to
start in 15 days,” Prakash informed. He said the management of Hotel Taj Mahal
has agreed to provide financial assistance for installing CCTV cameras.
“The initiative
and the project will be implemented without any impediment. We will ensure that
the aesthetic value of the iconic heritage structure is not compromised,”
Prakash said. More of all, tourists will receive a warm welcome at the venue
and we have trained “210 photographers on good behavior, soft skills, grooming,
first aid and business development,” said Kumar. Boat Crew members and
photographers will be groomed to behave in a friendly manner. Around three
hundred boat crew members will receive customized training skills in coming
days. Photographer and boat crew members will be dressed in uniform and will be
provided with identity cards.
The Project also
include photo gallery and a museum at the Gateway. We have received the
go-ahead for the photo gallery and the museum from the Department of
Maharashtra Archeology and Museum on Tuesday. The museum will have heritage and
buildings around it such as the Royal Mumbai Yacht Club, The Taj Mahal Palace,
Evelyn House and others,”Kumar Said. More of all, special seating arrangements
will be made for the senior citizens and VIPs.
For this
initiative and project several authorities are involved and include Mumbai Port
Trust, Mumbai Police, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), India
Tourism, BMC, Maharashtra Maritime Board, Boat Association, Photographers
Association, Bombay Royal Yacht Club and Bombay Radio Club among others.
More of all,
Photographers and boat crew members will get uniform, which will help people to
identify in the crowd. Grievance Cell Tourist Counter will also be set up as
tourists can make inquiries, lodge their grievances and drop suggestion for
better management.
