Dindigul is a pristine city in the
state of Tamil Nadu, which is also an administrative headquarters of the
Dindigul district.
The place derives its name from two native words, ‘Thindu’ and ‘kal’, which means ‘pillow’ and ‘rock’ respectively. Such a name has been given to the place because of the bare rocky hills that overlook the city. The Dindigul city is beautifully located in between the Palani Hills and the Sirumalai hills, which has also helped the city’s land to become fertile and perfect for agriculture.
