The beautiful and charming hill station of Mahabaleshwar has
many attractive places of tourist interest among which is the Venna Lake. This lake which is spread over an area of 28 acres is probably one of the most popular tourist spots out here. It is a manmade lake constructed in the year 1842 by the ruler of Satara, Shri Appasaheb Maharaj. It is about 10 feet in depth and is mostly popular for fishing and boating among the tourists. The environment around the lake is abuzz with different stalls and activities arranged for the tourists. There is a mini train ride for the children, game stalls etc. There are also stalls and shops selling local souvenir items and tasty snacks. would be during the time of sunset, as the crimson colour of the setting sun
