Must Visit Some Top Tourist Places of Gujarat

Gujarat is a noteworthy tourist destination located in western India. It is well known for its archaeological sites
and is one of the top most visited places by tourists throughout the year. Great Rann of Kutch: The great Rann of Kutch is one of the largest salt deserts in the whole world, covering an area of about 16,000 square kilometres. Gir National Park: Gir National Park is one among the top five national parks in Gujarat. It is the only National Park where Asiatic lion is found and the park is considered to be the largest dry deciduous forests in western India. It is situated at a distance of 360 kilometres away from Ahmadabad.

Somnath Temple: Somnath temple is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Gujarat. The architecture and the carvings of the holy shrine are fascinating and well maintained. The time to visit the temple is on November when a religious fair is celebrated every full moon night. It is a sacred place of worship for Hinduism and the “Char dham yatra” is world widely known holy yatra. Thousands of tourists make their visit to this temple every weekend.

Dwarakadheesh Temple of Lord Krishna
Dwarakadheesh Temple also known as Dwarkanath Temple is a holy temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and is located somewhat about 145 kms from Jamnagar. By the Legend it is believed that Lord Krishna left his bird place and later came to settle here with his Yadava Clan. He has built a beautiful Golden city which later came to be known as Kushasthali or Dwaravati and today at present it is known as Dwarka. The temple dedicated to Lord Krishna is almost 2500 years old.

Akshardham Temple

Dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan, Akshardham Temple is an important religious temple of Hindu religion. This temple is visited by some 2 million visitors from India and abroad to offer prayers as well as to enjoy the Gujarati architectural master piece. It is 10 storied edifice, which is made up of using 6000 tonnes of Pink Stones and more interesting part of this temple is that, not even a single iron rod is used to erect the sandstone during its construction. The temple architectural master piece has gathered national and international fame, which attracts huge number of devotees and tourists from all over the world.
