Excursion to
Manali from Delhi (538 km) was my lifetime experience; the advent took us 16
hours in a Mahindra Scorpio.
We were 4 including my friends, it was a re-union trip to explore most of the parts of Manali including, temples, monasteries, rivers etc. Usually, it don’t take this much time but the several stoppage for tea, coffee, refreshments at the roadside dhabas and restaurants took some 2 hours of our journey time. We reached Manali by 10 p.m. at night and spend the night in Retreat Cottage which is a beautiful and modernly amenized hotel.

After a
princely breakfast at the hotel, we advent towards the Hadimba temple for a
secular visit and after that we went to Museum of Himachal Culture and Folk
arts where we saw some of the most astounding cultural items related to all of
Himachal Pradesh. After a half day dedication to the temple and the museum it
was time for lunch, so we stop by the Hadimba palace Hotel where we ate some of
the finest mouth watering culinary delights of Manali. Later on, we visited the
nearby Apple Orchard and ate some fresh apples enjoying the scenic views of the
surroundings. Tibetan Monastery was our last visit of the day where we spend
some peaceful and pleasant time of our life. We stayed the night at Shingar
Regency near the Beas River.
Early in the
morning, after the breakfast at the hotel, our advent was to reach the top most
attraction of Manali and someone told us about the Beas River, it was silent,
cold, and majestic, the visit to the river was just astonishing and the view of
the picturesque landscape was just magical and beyond my words to describe. We
spend more than three hours in the river, before going to the Vashist village
located on the left side of the Beas River. The temples and springs which made
it renowned among the travelers, dedicated to Vashist Muni and Lord Rama and
the hot sulphur springs were full of tourists. Me with my friends bathed in the
Turkish style showers which were fitted nearby the springs, it was an amazing
experience. After having our lunch, we headed to the Solang Nallah which is
positioned at a distance of 14 km North-West of Manali which offers with
adventurous sports like ski sloping at an altitude of 300 meter. It was a
beautiful place for sightseeing too. We spend the night long stay at the hotel
nearby.
The third
day of our advent was the most thrilling one as we went to one of the finest
destination from Manali, Rohtang Pass located at an altitude of 3979 meter and
51 km from Manali, the majestic view of the surrounding snow capped hills and
the Chandra river flowing down the Lahaul valley was providing a magnetic
feeling to pull me. It is only open from June to October and we felt lucky to
visit this place. The twin peaks of Geypan to the left was adding an exact
amount of ornamentation to this place. In the fourth day we spend the full day
as a leisure period and went shopping in the evening visiting the mall road
known as the heart of Manali. After then we headed to Kashmir for our onward
journey. You should visit this place once, not because I am urging you but
because this place is like a heaven on earth. Visit
