Kasauli a Dreamy Place hidden in the lap of Himalayas

Kasauli is a beautiful hill station which is located around 77 km from Shimla
. It is a small town which was built in 19th century by Britishers because of which the place has an old charm. The Central Research Institute set up in this hill station during 1900, is the oldest one in India. The place was also featured in the Time’s best of Asia list under “Best Literary Excursion”. The narrow roads of Kasauli which goes up and down on the hill side, offer some scenic views of the surrounding areas. Directly below this hill station is the vast spreads of Punjab and Haryana, which as the night falls gives you a gorgeous carpet of twinkling lights. The town is surrounded by dense woods and its colonial character is seen by a stretch of paved roads, old fashioned shops, stone walled houses with appealing little gardens and orchards at the front. This charming hill station is covered with all Deodar, wild flora, dense forest, flowering Kichnar in summer and it is also a popular destination for bird watchers. During winters the place experiences snowfall which intensifies the charm of the hill station.

The nearest airport to this place is Shimla which is 35 km away. Chandigarh airport is also near to this pace which is around 65 km away.
The nearest railway station is Kalka in Haryana, which is around 40 km form Kasauli.
As for the road, Kasauli is well connected by road buses, coaches and taxis are also available from Chandigarh and Delhi.

Monkey Point: The most popular tourist spot in Kasauli is Monkey point. It is located at a distance of 4 km from the city bus stand. Apart from the picturesque views of the plains of Chandigarh and river Sutlej, this point is also famed for a small temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The unusual shape of rock has also earned it the name ‘Tapp’s Nose’. The area is under Indian Air Force hence a prior permission is required.

Timber Trail: The Timber Trail attraction is gaining huge fame among the tourists. This trail referred to the valley that lies between the two neighbouring hills of the Shivalik range. The cable car is the main attraction of this place and the view of the Kaushalya River flowing below is a mesmerizing sight. The Trail is a ride that one will remember for its beauty and excitement.
