the various sightseeing that this site offers of the surrounding villages of
Tamil Nadu namely Cumbum, Theni, Vaiga, Thevaram, Uthamapalayam, Bodinaykannor

Kuruvatti. You can also view the sunrise which rises from the eastern mountains
and sets at the western mountains surrounded by emerald greeneries making this
site even more worthy to visit. The vista is even astonishing at twilight when
the nearby towns are lighted.
During Monsoon
(June to August) it is generally raining with brawny winds making evening
colder. Trekking becomes more adventurous with the rain providing the forest
and mountain with additional colour and beauty; it’s really spectacular to see
the rain (perhaps to have a rain dance) on the mountains of Ramakalmedu. In
winter season (November to January) the wind blows at very fast speed making
this place windier.
From November to February it’s like a heaven with mountains
and surroundings carpeted with gorgeous sunshine. The wind effect combined with
the emerald green surroundings and mysteriously cloudy skies will give you with
some unforgettable memories to cherish and poise within.
The Wind Factor: It is one
of the exotic places to experience the wind effect. The average speed of wind
which blows in this area is about 25 km/hr. This place has the prestige of
being the place for maximum speed of wind in Asia. It is very difficult to

How to Reach: The nearest
railhead is at Changanacherry about 93 km away and the nearest airport is in
Madurai (Tamil Nadu) at a distance of 140 km & Cochin International
Airport, Nedumbassery at about 190 km. Buses are available from Thekkady (40
km), Idukki (45 km) Munnar (75 km). It is located 16 km from Nedumkandom from
the Thekkady-Munnar road.
